Likes: The game format, always action, always something to do. The base respawn was great! walking on and off the field will take its toll on you after a while and this was awesome. Free lunch was a huge perk, specially those of us who were hurting for money. The terminator role was very cool. Different color paint kept it interesting. Sunday play was a good time, it was lots of fun to watch
Dislikes: not much really, if anything it would be the glowsticks, if we were playing a true nightplay game I wouldnt have liked them, i like to be stealthy. And maybe changing the respawn points for sunday play so it is a little easier to take the other teams base

Likes: The field..a lot! The story line and attempt to include infiltration and other advance story line features. Some good mission ideas. The van was very original. I, and the rest of the RATS, had a great time!
Dislikes: Modification of rules from published rules. Stick with your published rules. Deviations from the GSRP.
Thoughts and Suggestions:[/u] Medics & Base Respawns - While the idea of both are great, combing the two seemed to keep players in the fight TOO long. It was also confusing that medics had unlimited heals and, according to a ref near me, were allowed to heal headshots.
If you're going to use both, and I understand why you would with ABPb's field layout, limit the number of heals a medic can carry. Players should get second chance but unlimited heals is a bit much. Splatbrothers gives each medic 5 white arm bands to mark players when they get healed and players turn those in when they respawn. Honestly, I think you could do away with Medics and just use the base respawn rule with so many bases.
Arm Band Tape(ABT)/Mask Tape(MT) - I think it's unfortunate that more and more fields are requiring players to wear this. It removes the ability of players to really sneak in to other areas. I'd like to see rules that closer resemble the GSPR where ABT/MT is optional. It's only supposed to be used to identify YOUR team, not your enemy. Allowing players to go with out would really open your games up to more dynamic missions and require security details to pay more attention.
You already issue each side a different Player ID card. Allow that to be how players are identified.
Team CP Assignment - ABPb has a great field, but lets face it, someone is going to have a longer walk than the other. If you're going to have a lunch break in the game, flip the field. This could allow both teams to play from both sides of the field which mixes things up. But it also allows for both teams to deal with walking the same distances.
I'm not really sure if that walk has a profound impact on the game, but both games I've played at ABPb have been won by the team holding the city/fort area. Some of the regulars could probably provide better info on that.
Night Game Format - I wanted to say kudos to the reffing staff coming up with a cool format for the night game after the official game was called. I was really looking forward to that as a fun alternative to a serious night game but things didn't' work out.
Unfortunately, there was some apparent misunderstanding on where the glow sticks were to be worn. Next time remove any doubt of where that is, and have all the refs enforce that.
Two-Day Event - While I don't attend these games for the prizes, it's nice to win a little something every once in a while. However, by having the closing ceremony on the second day, you effectively punished everyone who could only play the scenario game and weren't really interested in the Sunday play.
Having the game closing ceremony after the game would be preferable. If you want to give free admission to the Sunday session as part of that, cool.
It would have been cool to have had this game be a true 24-hour event. The weather was near perfect. Hopefully, that will be something that is considered in the future.

I have to agree with the ceremony part, if its going to be a 1 day event I think it should be on the day of the event. That way all awards can be handed out and everyone has a fair chance. There was like only about 50 people or so at the award ceremony.
And I too can see your point with the base regeneration how medics arent really needed. But I never heard of the 5 white armband rule. I think that I pretty cool and would be great for some of the smaller games. I think it gives the medic a little more room to play as well. and head shots should not be healable, thats just paintball to me, but if someone gets gogged and the medic "heals" him that can really mess up vision too, I think thats a good reason headshots are not healable because it gives players the proper opportunity to clean their mask in a safe place.

What a great game, it very difficult to pick it apart. On the positive. The field itself is top notch. The variety of woods, brush and open field make it unique. Wide spread use of bunkers and obstacles make attack and defend skirmishes interesting.
Reffing was outstanding.
Air was available at usable pressure.
Camping area appeared to be adequate.( didn't camp)
Staff was courteous and helpful.
Good storyline for the game.
Needs work, Not much really. With many more people I think the registration staff could get behind issuing tags and paying for paint.
I to would like to see the game and awards on the same day. Everyone likes to hear the atta boys.
I'm not a big night game player. This was more of a curiosity than a draw for the game in my opinion. The field certainly has night potential, but given the drop out rate for these games, I don't think they should count in the overall points total.
Maybe play the game normal hours, have awards and then do a night open game for all that want to participate. This would keep all comers happy.
The machines utilized the quick re spawn to it's maximum during the game. It was part of the plan. It does seem to be a bit redundant to have it and unlimited medics on the field. Maybe limit the number of times a player can re spawn, have his card punched when he does. Only so many punches per half.

This was my first scenario game and I can say that I am 100% hooked on it now. I thought I enjoyed speedball better than woodsball but this really changed my opinion. While I don't have much basis for comparison I can think of a few things that made it an excellent experience - both from the ABP staff and from the participating teams.
Organization - Though I came late and missed the morning rush, I had no issues checking in and airing up.
Attitude - Everyone from the fill station to the hot dog line was smiling and joking. Everyone offered advice. I don't think you'd find that level of employee satisfaction even at Google!
Command posts - I disagree with the previous poster about the city being easier to defend. While there is only one side to attack it due to the tape lines, the "gas station" and "Alpha1" would have provided the close respawn point needed to overcome that. Mad Max and the new Diamond Base have only a handful of trails to assault from whereas the city opens up once you pass that first bottleneck.
Medics - I'm in agreement on the redundancy. Maybe only a medic can respawn, everyone else needs to be healed? Maybe no medics? Maybe no respawn, only medics? I think it gets frustrating to finally get someone out only to have them pop right back up.
Players - I did not have one, ONE, negative encounter on the field. Not one person overshot me, if I hit or was hit I always received a high five from the shooter. I give the human team a TON of credit for being competitive and acting in a sportsmanlike manner. This is a direct result from the attitude of the staff and is really the reason for the resounding success of the game and ABP as a whole.
Counting the days until round two!

Loved the field. It was a nice and welcome change from the hills I'm used to playing on.
Fast air fills. I never had to wait longer than like 2 minutes.
Lunch included: Free food is always the best food.
The storyline was fun and although I didn't know about too many of the missions I liked the idea of the "Terminators"
Good reffing from what I saw.
Dislikes:
Like a few others I feel that the use of Medics and the fast recharge/respawn was a bit much. If a player was stationed with a medic right behind him he could stay in play non-stop. Also, with a few of the bases there were smaller bases which could be used to respawn right behind them. This made it VERY hard for the humans to take more ground in my opinion. Sure, people don't like walking all over the place to "Respawn" but like I said, with the medics it was a bit too much in my opinion. Dead zones are used to counter this.
Tax on paint: This was the first field that I ran into having to pay tax on paint. Not that it's a big huge deal to me but hey.. that was almost $4 more that I could have put towards something else ya know? lol
Confusion on rules: More than once I encountered people respawning on a base they were defending. (there were no refs around to stop them at this point sadly) Hence why I like dead zones better.
I agree with Severe and the others on Awards. I like to stay and see who gets what, even if I don't win. It's fun to watch people get excited with awards/prizes. If you didn't want to stay for Sunday or you couldn't you missed out, even though the main event was on day one only.
The glow rings.. No chance to be stealthy. 'nuff said lol.
I still had a great time and will be back to play again and again!

I think a ref a each of the flagged bases would help with the respawning problems. I would say no medics, but some of the missions pretty much required one

For starters i had a blast there was only one issue that i saw and that was the respawn deal.
If your goona have respawn places there should be only 1 per side so each team would have a CP and a respawn in play somewhere this allowing the game to move. It was just hard hitting people and watching them turn around 5 feet and touching the base that they were just at and them saying i was leaving my base going to attack another i wasn't defending. I personally dont care because i love paintball but it is hard when people on your team are over it and in the Parking lot for extended periods of time. That is the only change i could see other than that awsome game. Hoping to make it game 2.
